Mechanical Analysis and Evaluation for Oil Casing Tubes
Introduction

Mechanical Analysis and Evaluation for Oil Casing Tubes

The mechanical analysis and evaluation for oil pipe strings like casing tubes mainly focuses on loads such as internal and external pressure, bending, and twisting, etc. Through theoretical analysis and computing simulation, failure behaviors like fatigue, fracture and crushing can be studied, to provide technical support for oil & gas field development projects and the application of advanced drilling and completion technologies. Meanwhile, researches on the safety performance of complicated oil and gas well casing tube string and drilling string compartments can provide theoretical support for material selection in drilling and completion projects.

Advantages

By using engineering mechanics theories and finite element numerical simulation methods, SRI can conduct mechanical analysis for pipelines and all kinds of engineering structures. Evaluations can be carried out in line with various load types, including stretching, pressing, bending, twisting and different combinations, and solutions can be provided for failure modes such as fatigue, fracture and plastic instability, etc.

Services
  • Residual Strength Evaluation and Life Prediction for Defected Pipelines
For defects detected by internal and external inspections on in-service pipelines, including metal loss defects, cracking defects, geometry defects and dispersion loss defects, SRI can evaluate the residual strength by using standardized methods, theoretical models and finite element analysis, and can predict the residual life in line with dynamic development laws of all sorts of defects. This service provides technical support for scientific pipeline management.
  • Pipeline Fatigue Fracture Analysis
SRI conducts research and provides solutions on fatigue and fracture risks of long distance pipelines. Typical applications include internal pressure fluctuation fatigue analysis, under sea pipeline vortex-induced vibration analysis, pipeline cracking failure analysis, etc.
  • Engineering Structure Vibration Analysis
SRI conducts research and provides solutions on the wildly-existing vibration problem in pipelines, bridges, tanks and other engineering structures. Typical applications include modal analysis, spectral analysis, dynamic load, vibration stress calculation, and vibration parameter monitoring, etc.
  • Geological Disaster Risk Monitoring and Assessment
SRI conducts research and provides solutions on geological disaster risks in pipeline areas, including landslide, collapse, gulch, differential settlement, etc. Typical application include slope stability monitoring and analysis, geological disaster area pipeline stress monitoring and analysis, differential settlement impact analysis, etc.
